How to Pay the U.S. Visa Fee in Thailand

The DS-160 itself has no submission fee. Applicants in Thailand pay the separate nonimmigrant visa application (consular) fee through the official U.S. visa appointment service before an interview can be scheduled.

Payment methods in Thailand

The official Thailand payment options page currently lists three methods:

Cash at any Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri) branch: print both the U.S. Visa Application Fee Deposit Slip and the Krungsri Bank deposit slip, include your payment reference number, and pay the exact baht amount. The bank stamps and returns the bottom half as your receipt — it cannot be reissued if lost.
Electronic funds transfer (EFT): domestic ACH (SMART) or BAHTNET, or SWIFT internationally, to Bank of America N.A., Bangkok Branch (SWIFT BOFATH2X) using the unique virtual account number from your deposit instructions. One payment covers a whole family or group; keep the virtual account number as proof.
Mastercard credit/debit in USD: billed in U.S. dollars; your bank may add foreign transaction and conversion fees, and the billing address must match your card exactly.

Step-by-step payment process

Submit the DS-160 and save the confirmation page.
Create a profile on the official Thailand visa service and choose Start Appointment.
On the Payment Options screen, pick your method and generate the deposit slip or payment details showing the exact THB amount at the consular exchange rate.
Pay once, for the exact amount, before the slip's expiration date (Krungsri refuses expired slips — regenerate in your profile).
Save the reference number / virtual account number and the stamped receipt — they cannot be replaced, and you cannot schedule without them.
Allow up to one business day for activation, then schedule the interview from your profile.

Thailand-specific payment rules

The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, whether or not a visa is issued, and can be used for scheduling for one year from payment.
If a payment appears to fail, do not pay again — email support-thailand@usvisascheduling.com or call the Thailand call center (02 026 8791, Mon–Fri 07:00–16:00). Duplicates are not refunded.
The THB amount follows the State Department's consular exchange rate — not your bank's rate. Receipts paid at an older rate remain valid until they expire.
A family or group needs only one EFT payment covering all applicants.
Some mobile banking apps don't support SMART/BAHTNET transfers to virtual accounts — check with your bank first.
F, M, and J students and exchange visitors also owe a separate SEVIS fee on fmjfee.com — the consular fee does not cover it.

How much is the U.S. visa fee in baht?

The fee is set in U.S. dollars — $185 for B visitor and F/M/J student visas, higher for petition-based categories — converted at the consular rate (US$1 = 32 THB as of September 2025). Confirm the current amount on the Department of State fee schedule and the exact THB figure on your deposit slip.

Can I pay through my mobile banking app?

Yes, if your bank's app supports ACH (SMART) or BAHTNET transfers to a virtual account. Some personal banking apps don't — ask your bank, or pay cash at Krungsri instead.

I lost my stamped Krungsri receipt. Can the bank reprint it?

No — the bank cannot issue a new one, and losing it can block scheduling. Keep the stamped slip and photograph it as backup.

My deposit slip expired before I paid. What now?

Log back into your profile and generate a new deposit slip. Krungsri will not accept an expired one.

Can I use a fee paid in Thailand for an interview in another country?

No. A fee paid through the Thailand system is tied to applying in Thailand. If you switch countries, expect to create a profile in that country's system and pay again.
