How to Pay the U.S. Visa Fee in Indonesia

The DS-160 itself has no submission fee. Applicants in Indonesia pay the separate nonimmigrant visa application (consular) fee through the official U.S. visa appointment service before an interview can be scheduled.

Payment methods in Indonesia

The official Indonesia payment options page currently lists three methods:

  • Electronic funds transfer (virtual account): pay in IDR from an Indonesian account at any of a dozen participating banks — Permata, Mandiri, BNI, BRI, Mega, BTN, BSI, NEOCommerce, BJB, BCA, Maybank, and Bank Nagari — to the virtual account generated in your profile. A family or group can pay all fees in one transfer.
  • Cash at Indomaret: print the deposit slip from your application steps and pay over the counter at any Indomaret. Mind the slip's expiration date (expired slips are refused — regenerate in your profile), and make sure the cashier enters your payment reference number.
  • Mastercard credit/debit in USD: billed in U.S. dollars, Mastercard only. Your bank may add foreign transaction and conversion fees, and the billing address must match your card exactly.

Step-by-step payment process

  1. Submit the DS-160 and save the confirmation page.
  2. Create a profile on the official Indonesia visa service and choose Schedule Appointment.
  3. On the payment screen, verify the number of applicants, visa category, and IDR amount (set at the State Department's consular exchange rate) before paying.
  4. Pay via virtual-account transfer, Indomaret cash, or USD Mastercard.
  5. Keep the payment reference number safe — it cannot be replaced if lost, and you cannot schedule without it.
  6. Allow up to one business day for activation, then return to your account to schedule the interview.

Indonesia-specific payment rules

  • The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, whether or not a visa is issued.
  • If a payment appears to fail, do not pay a second time — email support-indonesia@usvisascheduling.com with your reference. Duplicate payments are not refunded.
  • The fee can be used to schedule an appointment for one year from the payment date.
  • Underpaying for your visa class (wrong category selected) can block scheduling.
  • Your bank may charge its own fee for EFT transactions.
  • F, M, and J students and exchange visitors also owe a separate SEVIS fee paid on fmjfee.com — the consular fee payment does not cover it.

No. A fee paid through the Indonesia system is tied to applying in Indonesia. If you switch countries, expect to create a profile in that country's system and pay again.
