How to Pay the U.S. Visa Fee in Morocco

The DS-160 itself has no submission fee. Applicants in Morocco pay the separate nonimmigrant visa application (consular) fee through the official appointment service before an interview in Casablanca can be scheduled.

Payment methods in Morocco

The official Morocco payment options page currently lists three methods:

  • Cash at a Cash Plus location: print the fee collection slip from your profile and pay the exact MAD amount before the slip's expiration date. Cheques are not accepted, and expired slips are refused.
  • Credit/debit card online in MAD: paid in dirhams. The billing address must match your card exactly or the payment is declined.
  • USD card via Elavon: billed in U.S. dollars, through a link at checkout.

Step-by-step payment process

  1. Submit the DS-160 and save the confirmation page.
  2. Create a profile on the official Morocco visa service.
  3. Verify the number of applicants, visa category, and MAD amount (set at the consular exchange rate) before paying.
  4. Pay cash at Cash Plus with the printed slip, or by card online.
  5. Save the receipt and its CGI reference number — the receipt cannot be replaced if lost, and you cannot schedule without that number.
  6. Schedule the interview from your profile once the receipt activates.

Morocco-specific rules

  • The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, whether or not a visa is issued.
  • The MAD amount follows the State Department's consular exchange rate, not a bank or bureau rate.
  • Deposit slips expire — generate a fresh one from your profile rather than presenting a lapsed slip.
  • Paying the wrong amount for your visa class can block scheduling.
