How to Pay the U.S. Visa Fee in Türkiye

Q: Can I pay by bank transfer or with a Turkish card?

The official options are Garanti Bank cash and U.S.-issued Mastercard in USD. A Turkish-issued card used on the USD option will be declined, and the refund can take days — pay cash at Garanti instead.

The DS-160 itself has no submission fee. Applicants in Türkiye pay the separate nonimmigrant visa application (consular) fee through the official U.S. visa appointment service before an interview can be scheduled.

Payment methods in Türkiye

The official Türkiye payment options page currently lists two methods:

Cash at Garanti Bank locations: print the U.S. Visa Deposit slip from your profile, bring valid government-issued ID, and pay the exact amount before the slip's expiration date. Cheques are not accepted, and expired slips are refused — regenerate in your profile if yours lapses.
USD credit/debit card via Elavon: billed in U.S. dollars, Mastercard only. Your bank may add foreign transaction and conversion fees, and the billing address must match your card exactly.

Step-by-step payment process

Submit the DS-160 and save the confirmation page.
Create a profile on the official Türkiye visa service and select Start Application (visa type, post, category, class).
On the payment options screen, verify the number of applicants, visa category, and lira amount (set at the consular exchange rate).
Pay cash at Garanti Bank with the printed slip, or by USD Mastercard online.
Keep the reference/receipt number safe — it cannot be replaced if lost, and you cannot schedule without it.
Allow up to one business day for activation, then schedule the interview from your profile.

Türkiye-specific payment rules

The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, whether or not a visa is issued, and can be used for scheduling for one year from payment.
If a payment appears to fail, do not pay again — email support-turkiye@usvisascheduling.com with your proof of payment. Duplicates are not refunded.
Paying the wrong amount for your visa class can block scheduling.
Fees paid before May 30, 2025 with a missing receipt: email support with proof of payment and the payment number/PIN.
F, M, and J students and exchange visitors also owe a separate SEVIS fee on fmjfee.com — the consular fee does not cover it.

Can I use a fee paid in Türkiye for an interview in another country?

No. A fee paid through the Türkiye system is tied to applying in Türkiye. If you switch countries, expect to create a profile in that country's system and pay again.
