How to Pay the U.S. Visa Fee in Bangladesh

The DS-160 itself has no submission fee. Applicants in Bangladesh pay the separate nonimmigrant visa application (consular) fee through the official U.S. visa appointment service before an interview can be scheduled.

Payment methods in Bangladesh

The official Bangladesh payment options page currently lists four methods:

BEFTN transfer from any Bangladeshi bank: generate the CGI EFT deposit slip in your profile, then in your bank's portal select BEFTN only (no other transfer mode). Beneficiary: CGI FEDERAL INC, account = prefix 11110 + your 12-digit CGI reference number, via Eastern Bank PLC (Gulshan branch, routing 095261720). Pay the exact amount before the slip's expiry date.
EBL Skybanking (Eastern Bank account holders): Bill Payment → VISA Fee → U.S. VISA Fee, enter the CGI reference number and expiry from the deposit slip, confirm with OTP.
Cash at any Eastern Bank (EBL) branch: print one CGI deposit slip (one per family/group), complete the bank's carbonized US-visa deposit slip at the counter, and keep the sealed receipt copy.
Visa/Mastercard issued in Bangladesh through the payment page; a separate USD option exists but accepts U.S.-issued Mastercard only — other cards are declined and refunds can take days.

Step-by-step payment process

Submit the DS-160 and save the confirmation page.
Create a profile on the official Bangladesh visa service and start the application (visa type, post, category, class).
On the payment screen, verify the number of applicants, visa category, and BDT amount (set at the consular exchange rate), then generate your deposit slip or open the card flow.
Pay once, for the exact amount, before the slip expires.
Save the CGI reference / payment reference number — it cannot be replaced if lost, and you cannot schedule without it. Keep a screenshot or bank advice of the transaction.
Allow up to one business day (Sun–Thu, excluding U.S. and local holidays) for activation, then schedule from your account.

Bangladesh-specific payment rules and cut-offs

The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, whether or not a visa is issued, and can be used for scheduling for one year from payment.
If a payment appears to fail, do not pay again — email support-bangladesh@usvisascheduling.com with your reference. Duplicates are not refunded.
Cut-off times for same-business-day processing: EBL cash before 4 p.m., Skybanking before 11:59 p.m., BEFTN before 1 p.m.; later payments roll to the next business day.
One deposit slip covers a whole family or group — do not print multiple copies.

How much is the U.S. visa fee in taka?

The fee is set in U.S. dollars — $185 for B visitor and F/M/J student visas, higher for petition-based categories — and collected in BDT at the consular exchange rate printed on your deposit slip. Confirm the current amount on the Department of State fee schedule.

Can I pay with bKash or Nagad?

Mobile wallets are not among the official options. Use BEFTN from a bank account, EBL Skybanking, EBL cash, or a card through the payment page.

I typed the beneficiary account wrong. What happens?

The account number is 11110 + your exact CGI reference number. A mismatch can leave your payment unmatched — contact support with your bank's transaction advice rather than paying again.

I lost my CGI reference number. Can I recover it?

The deposit slip can be re-viewed in your profile before payment, but a lost receipt cannot be replaced. Keep the confirmation screenshot or ask your bank branch for the transaction advice.

Can I use a fee paid in Bangladesh for an interview in another country?

No. A fee paid through the Bangladesh system is tied to applying in Bangladesh. If you switch countries, expect to create a profile in that country's system and pay again.
